In this paper, we report on the chem. binding of biotin on an epoxy photolithog. patterned surface. In particular, we used a neg. chem. amplified epoxy resist (EPR) in order to create very small structures by photolithog., in which biotin derivatives functionalized with succinimidyl ester or an amine group were immobilized through covalent bonding. Lithog. process with exposure at 248 nm was optimized, and structures with diameter down to 0.5 μm were demonstrated, where biomols. were successfully bound.
