1-Hexyl-3-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium hydrogensulfate (cas: 478935-29-4) belongs to imidazole derivatives. Imidazole is a heterocyclic compound with a five-membered planar ring. It is amphoteric and highly polar. Imidazole is incorporated into many important biological compounds. The most pervasive is the amino acid histidine, which has an imidazole side-chain. Histidine is present in many proteins and enzymes, e.g. by binding metal cofactors, as seen in hemoglobin.Category: imidazoles-derivatives

Acid ionic liquid [Hmim]HSO4 as catalyst for the production of biodiesel from microalgae was written by Lin, Lu;Liu, Kang;Wang, Rui;Yu, Meiqing. And the article was included in Petroleum & Coal in 2017.Category: imidazoles-derivatives The following contents are mentioned in the article:

The reaction conditions of transesterification during Chlorella protothecoides biodiesel preparation using an acid ionic liquid [Hmim]HSO4 as catalyst was studied. The product was analyzed by gas chromatog. and the productivity was calculated The results showed that under ultrasonic condition, Et ether had the highest extraction rate (9.97% at 25min). The best conditions of transesterification were as follows: the molar ratio of methanol to the microalgae oil was 9:1, the reaction time was 7h, the reaction temperature was 70°C and the dosage of the catalyst accounted for 7% of the mass of the microalgae oil. Under this condition, the yield of biodiesel could reach 64%5%.As a result, the production had already reached the diesel standard of China from the perspective of phys. and chem. properties. This study involved multiple reactions and reactants, such as 1-Hexyl-3-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium hydrogensulfate (cas: 478935-29-4Category: imidazoles-derivatives).
