The oxidation of Rabeprazole sodium by potassium permanganate has been studied by spectrophotometrically in the presence of alk. medium at 298 K at 525 nm. The oxidation kinetics was also studied by varying the ionic strength of the medium. The reaction was studied at different temperatures and products of oxidation were analyzed by LCMS.
