N-Methyl-N-{4-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-hydroxy-1-(1-methoxymethyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-ethyl]-phenyl}-benzenesulfonamide To a solution of 55 mg (0.49 mmol) of 1-methoxymethyl-1H-imidazole in 5 ml of THF at -78 C. was added 0.20 ml (0.50 mmol) of a 2.5 M solution of n-butyllithium in hexanes and the resultant mixture was stirred at -78 C. for 30 mins.After this time, a solution of 160 mg (0.47 mmol) of N-methyl-N-(4-trifluoroacetyl-phenyl)-benzenesulfonamide (Example 22, Step A) in 2 ml of THF was added and the resultant mixture stirred at -78 C. for a further 2 h, and then at room temperature for 14 h.After this time the reaction was quenched by the addition of a saturated aqueous solution of ammonium chloride and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and the filtrate was concentrated.The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (hexanes:EtOAc, 4:1) to give the title compound. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) delta 3.09 (s, 3H), 3.19 (s, 3H), 4.90 (s, 2H), 5.16 (brs, 1H), 7.07-7.16 (m, 4H), 7.42-7.62 (m, 7H).Mass Spectrum (CI+) m/e=456.1 (M+1).
