Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of some new of 2-(furan-2-yl)-1-(piperidin-4-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivatives
We report a series of new heterocyclic compounds containing the imidazole scaffold were synthesized such as 2-(furan-2-yl)-1-(piperidine-4-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivative. Due to the biological activities of imidazole as antimicrobial agents, in the present work, all the synthesized compounds were characterized by H-1 NMR and LC-MS analysis and some of the compounds are characterized by C-13 NMR. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against Gram +ve and Gram -ve bacteria and different fungal species which demonstrated good to moderate antimicrobial activity, in which compounds 7b and 7I shows highest antimicrobial activity.
