A solution of ethyl 2-bromopropionate (3.98 g, 22 mmol), 4-chloro-5-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole (3.00 g, 20 mmol), and K2CO3 (5.53 g, 40 mmol) in THF/DMF (2:1, 39 mL) was allowed to stir at 45 C. for 16 h.
