General procedure: To the corresponding benzimidazole or pyrazole 16?20 (4.5 or 6.6 equiv), dissolved under N2 atmosphere in anhyd MeCN, NaH (60percent dispersion in mineral oil, 4.5 or 6.6 equiv) was added and the mixture was stirred for 30 min at r.t. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography using CHCl3?MeOH or CHCl3?MeOH?hexane as the eluent.
