Preparation of 2-(2,4-dimethyl-1H-1-yl)benzonitrile Sodium hydride (8.65 g 60%, 0.216 mol) were stirred in anhydrous dimethylformamide in 75 . The crude product was 19: 1 dichloromethane-methanol followed by 9: 1 dichloromethane-treated by chromatography (silica gel) eluting with methanol to give the product as a solid. LCMS data were confirmed the structure.
