Water and ethyl acetate were added to the mixture, the resulting mixture was shaken vigorously, the layers separated, and the aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate several times. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated to give the crude product, which was purified by flash chromatography (1% to 2% of ammonia saturated methanol in CH2 Cl2) to give 2 (1.58 g; 52% yield).
