After dissolving 4-iodo-1H-imidazole (3.0 g, 0.015 mol) and triphenylmethyl chloride (6.0 g, 0.021 mol) in anhydrous N, N-dimethylformamide (50 mL) Deg.] C, triethylamine (7.2 mL, 0.052 mol) was added slowly, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 14 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated, and then distilled water (100 mL) was added thereto.
